"AUTUMN COWS"
8"X10"
#139
My favorite pastoral cows in my favorite place in the world. Loved painting this.

"TURQUOISE TRAIL SUNSET"
8"X10"
#140
I am lucky enough to see sunsets just like these pretty often here in our beautiful state. I hope you like this one. I tried to be very loose with my strokes, especially where the sky meets the ground.

"AUTUMN FLOWERS ON RED"
10"X8"
#141
I love these autumn bouquets. Especially in oils, so fun to paint. I have a blast just moving color around on the canvas. I'm trying to use the largest brushes I can, and paint as far away as I can, to avoid putting in too much detail. It's all about first impressions these days.

"CANYON ROAD GERANIUMS"
10"X8"
#142
As I said in my regular blgopost, the color is off on this painting. I'm going to try to photograph it outside tomorrow and see if I get a more accurate color.

"THE SILVER LEAF MAPLE"

A nice day with clouds up in the Jemez.

"PEDERNAL IN FALL"
10"X8"
#145
I love Abiquiu, Ghost Ranch, and definitely Pedernal - Georgia O'Keefe's favorite mountain. It has such a unique shape and it looks different every time I paint it. I have to say, I think these paintings look better in person. You have to see the texture and luminosity of the oils. Just the way they smell too...

"SUNNY SKY"
8"X10"
#146
You know I had to throw some beautiful sunflowers into the 150 Challenge - don't worry, there will be more. I have plans for a trio, and a grouping of five. Oh, and a single sunflower too. The freedom of painting is oils is rejuvenating and so motivating. I can't wait to see all 150 on the wall of the gallery.

"POPPY GALORE"
8"X10"
#147
Yum, this reminds me of full blown spring - I wish we had some here in New Mexico right now! This painting is one of those nice jumbled masses of flowers that I love so much. They are such fun to paint. Once I start, hours can go by and I forget where I am...

"ORANGE CLIFFS"
10"X8"
#148
With this one, I'm just playing. I knew I wanted those cliffs to look like they are on fire and I believe they do. There is a bit of a glare on the sky from my studio lights, I think I'm going to start photographing my work outside - I think it will be more apt to produce a true color image.
